In recent years, Hewlett Packard has become infamous for its bad software practices and so we strongly recommend that you do not buy any more HP products. HP's priority is no longer about making their products work simply and easily. Instead, they prioritize spying on their users and collecting their data. For example their new printers require an active internet connection as well as their HP SMART software to run in order to function properly. The reason for this is that HP wants to monitor user activity and ensure that users are only using genuine cartridges. This may seem like a small issue, but it is a clear indication that HP is more interested in spying on their users than providing a quality product. These types of priorities make HP products vastly inferior because they are no slower and require much more troubleshooting than a different company’s printer that can simply print locally without any need for online supervision. It is important to support companies that prioritize user privacy and product quality over data collection.
